Treves, Mattatias ben Joseph
(c.1325-c.1385)
   French rabbi. He was born in Provence, and lived in Spain. He returned to France when the edict of expulsion of the Jews was repealed in 1361. He founded a yeshivah in Paris and in 1363 became the city's chief rabbi.
